Administration Items:

Item One: Medicaid Billing

Administration invited the new Director of the Hamilton Boone Madison Cooperation to explain the process of billing services for qualifying Medicaid students in WWS that are serviced by our Speech Pathologists. It was agreed that the Speech Pathologists would go through training. Communication with the OT/PT at HBM cooperative would also take place. WWS has never billed for students who qualify for Medicaid. The actual numbers of how many students would be involved is still yet to be determined. It is a monthly duty required for the speech pathologists. The process would be evaluated & will be determined by Dr. Keen if this is a cost-effective endeavor.

Item Two: Grants

Dr. Keen explained of a grant coming before the school board by the Hamilton County Alliance Entrepreneurship Grant-2007.  It is to be used to support students in a variety of entrepreneurship education through Karen Podell’s classes. The grant runs during the entire school year of 07-08 and can be reimbursed to the school multiple times during the school year.

Item Three: Personnel

The internal posted position for a 2/3 Social Studies position at the High School for second and third trimester will begin outside interviews on Oct. 15, 2007.

 Item Four: ECA’s

There will be 3 additional ECA positions created at WMS, additional baseball, additional softball & additional girl’s golf.  These are added to the schedule but until growth warrants the need, they may remain unfilled. This would allow for the division of 7th and 8th separate teams for baseball and softball and girls and boys golf.

Item Five: Alternate Option to Clinical Supervision

Dr. Keen presented that he is beginning to search for alternate means of clinical supervision. He presented one that he has been researching called Look to Learn. It is a student output focused type of supervision. He made multiple remarks that he feels there are better alternatives to “traditional” clinical supervision. Alternate clinical supervision will be something that is optional to traditional supervision for a staff member. He feels there are more useful ways of evaluation for veteran teachers. He is beginning to research the different types.
